Educator, scholar, community leader

I am a PhD candidate in the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy at the University of Texas at Austin.

My research uses critical, sociological, and community-based methodologies to examine how educators, leaders, students, families, and communities experience and respond to the implementation of accountability policy. My dissertation is an extended case study of Texas's takeover of Houston Independent School District from 2023 to 2026.

I taught middle and high school for 11 years. I now teach graduate and undergraduate-level courses in Policy Implementation, Epistemologies of Educational Research, History of the U.S. Education System, and Topics in K-12 Education.
